How Solicitor Matching Works

A match is a request to an independent professional. It is not a promise that a particular solicitor will accept or that a matter has legal merit.

Information used for matching

We use the nation, practice area, requested timing, consultation format and a short matter summary supplied by the user. Users should provide only what is reasonably necessary at the booking stage.

Verification standard

Before a professional is presented as a solicitor for a consultation, their practising status and firm details should be checked against the relevant public register. Relevant sources include the SRA register, the Law Society of Scotland directory and the Law Society of Northern Ireland directory.

Selection and commercial interests

Suitability depends on jurisdiction, practice area, availability and acceptance. Paid CabRank membership may affect which participating professionals receive a matter notification first. Go To Court does not promise that the first notified professional is the best professional for every user. Participating professionals are independent, and users may decline the introduction or choose another adviser.

The first hour and later work

The £145 Go To Court booking covers arranging the included one-hour consultation. The participating solicitor does not charge a separate fee for that included hour. Any later work requires a separate agreement directly with the professional, including their regulatory, complaints and costs information.
